Google employee charged with stealing AI trade secrets

A Google employee has been charged with stealing trade secrets related to artificial intelligence. The employee, a Chinese national living in California, is accused of copying over 500 files from Google’s servers over the span of a year. These files contained confidential information, including technology used in Google’s supercomputing data centers. The employee allegedly worked with two Chinese companies in the AI industry while stealing the trade secrets. If convicted, the employee could face up to 10 years in prison for each count of theft of trade secrets.
